Wood Hotel Bodø on the mountain Rønvikfjellet, with the city of Bodø, the fjord and the Børvasstindan mountains behind it

Destinations · Norway

Norway. Calm on the Arctic Circle.

A luxurious, adventurous and relaxing Arctic experience in one: wellness with a view, good food and the nature of northern Norway on your doorstep.

A different trip from Sápmi

Our trips in Sweden are about Sápmi: the land, the reindeer and Sámi culture. Bodø is something else.

It is a calm, luxurious base on the Norwegian coast, for anyone who wants to rest with good food, a heated rooftop pool and a few carefully chosen moments in nature. Two seasons, two very different trips.

Wellness

An entire floor of wellness

The top floor of the hotel belongs entirely to Pool & Wellbeing: a heated outdoor pool on the terrace with a view over Bodø, a steam sauna with a panoramic window, a lounge, a relaxation room with loungers and a gym that is free for overnight guests. The pool and terrace are open all year round.

Food

Honest, refined, no fuss

Restaurant ATTME on the seventh floor draws on old Norwegian flavours and traditions and works almost exclusively with local ingredients. On the ground floor, Café Turisthytta is Bodø's living room, and in the morning there is a breakfast with northern traditions, with a view over the nature.

Frequently asked questions

Everything about Norway

Can't find your question? Send us a message and we'll be happy to think along with you.

Why Bodø?

Bodø lies just above the Arctic Circle on the coast of northern Norway and is still a lot less well known than Tromsø and the Lofoten. The centre, the railway station and the harbour are an eight to nine minute drive from the hotel and the airport is twelve, and yet you are right in the middle of nature.

What is the difference from your trips in Sweden?

In Sweden everything revolves around Sápmi: reindeer, Sámi culture and the lives of the people there. In Norway you choose calm and comfort: a hotel with a spa, good food and a few carefully chosen trips into nature.

Is winter or summer the best season?

Choose winter if you want to see the northern lights and love snow and silence. Choose summer for long, light days, the midnight sun and hiking from the hotel. You'll find calm in both.

Can I add extra activities?

Yes. The hotel offers, for example, a RIB tour at Saltstraumen, a guided walk to Keiservarden and a via ferrata climb. Tell us what you'd like and we'll see what fits. Some trips have a minimum number of participants.

Are there accessible rooms?

The hotel has 15 accessible rooms. Let us know if you need one and we'll arrange it with the hotel.

What is the story behind Café Turisthytta?

Since 1890, the Turisthytta stood on Rønvikfjellet, a popular meeting place for hikers and visitors. In 2016 the building was demolished. Now the hotel stands there, and Café Turisthytta on the ground floor keeps the name alive.

Can I combine Norway with Sweden?

They are two separate trips. If you would still like to combine them, send us a message and we'll see what is possible.
