FAQs
1. What makes your Northern Lights tour different from others in Lapland?
Unlike many standard Northern Lights tours, ours is a hands-on photography workshop. You’ll learn how to capture the aurora like a pro, whether you're using a professional camera or just your phone. And best of all, we keep it small, personal, and far from the tourist trail.
2. Can I take good photos of the Northern Lights with my smartphone?
Absolutely. Most newer phones are capable of capturing the aurora, and I’'ll teach you how. My guide will show you the best camera settings for night photography, and we even have backup devices if needed.
3. Where does the Northern Lights tour start and how long does it last?
The tour starts with pickup in Luleå or Brändön Lodge. It lasts approximately 3 hours, including travel, a fire by the paddock, and a full photography session under the Arctic sky.
4. Is the reindeer experience suitable for children?
Yes! Our reindeer paddock is calm, safe, and a lot of fun for kids. Children can feed, cuddle and pet the reindeer and ask questions to a real Sámi reindeer herder.
5. How do I book a tour with Go To Sápmi?
Easy. Scroll down and fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page. Just let us know which experience you’re interested in (reindeer or Northern Lights), your preferred date, and how many people are joining. No automated booking tools, no third parties: just real contact with us. We’ll reply personally to confirm everything.
6. What should I wear during the tour?
It can get very cold in Arctic Sweden, so we recommend wearing thermal layers, warm boots, gloves, and a hat. We’ll provide hot drinks and a fire to stay comfortable.
7. Do I need experience to join the Northern Lights Photography Tour?
No experience needed. Whether you’ve never touched a camera or already know the basics, I’ll guide you through everything you need to know, at your level.
8. What happens if there are no Northern Lights that night?
While we can’t control the sky, the experience is never wasted. You'll still learn valuable photography skills, hear Sámi stories, enjoy a fire in the snow, and feel the calm of the Arctic evening.
